Protozoa

Protozoa is my take on the very popular snake game.  I was initially inspired to make it after playing the web game 'flOw' although the two games have virtually nothing in common.  I also had some inspiration from a mini game in Timesplitters 2 which was also a snake game and features a control system very similar to what I ended up using in Protozoa.  I coded this game in record time as it was completed in a day.  Despite being a very simple game (or maybe because of that fact) it's proved very popular and quite a few people have asked for a sequel which I will make at some point.

The title screen

In the game you play the role of a single cell organism on its quest to become multicellular. You achieve this by eating the other small organisms. For every organism you eat you gain cells and points. At the same time you have to be careful not to run into yourself or one of the enemies (large pink organisms) as this results in game over.

It's always useful to know the difference between blue squigly things and pink squigly things.

Unlike in ordinary snake games you are not restricted to 4 directions of movement, instead you rotate the head of the organism which means you can travel in almost any direction.  Also the food isn't stationery as is common in vanilla snake, instead it darts around the screen and so has to be chased.
